Manasquan,
NJ, USA: Solis Partners Signs Contract with PSE&G
System
integrator, Solis Partners LLC has been awarded a contract by
Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) to design, engineer
and construct a 921 kilowatt system on their Central Electric
Division headquarters facility in Somerset, New Jersey. Solis
was chosen after going through a competitive and technical review
process.
"We
are very pleased to have entered into a contract with PSE&G to
provide a turn-key solar rooftop PV system," said Jamie Hahn,
Managing Director of Solis Partners. "This project exemplifies
PSE&G's commitment to transform under utilized rooftops in NJ
into clean renewable energy sources while reducing green house
gases and creating new jobs in the Garden State."
The
Somerset project is part of the PSE&G Solar 4 All Program.
During the next several years, PSE&G will invest approximately
$515 million to install 80MW of solar energy that helps New Jersey
meet its renewable energy goal. PSE&G will own and operate the
system as well as the associated environmental attributes. The
clean energy produced is directly connected to the electric grid
for the benefit of all customers.
Solis
will design the system to incorporate both traditional flat glass-plated
crystalline panels and Solyndra™ PV panels for the flat areas
of the roof. The Solyndra™ panels are uniquely designed to optimize
solar electricity production on commercial rooftops. These panels
employ cylindrical modules, which capture sunlight across a 360-degree
photovoltaic surface capable of converting direct, diffuse and
reflected sunlight from the rooftop into electricity.
"New
Jersey is blessed with good sunlight and a large amount of flat
roof space. The installation of a solar energy system on our Central
Division headquarters roof is just one of 20 large solar installations
we are developing this year," said Al Matos, Vice President, Renewables
and Energy Solutions for PSE&G. "As an energy company we have
made a commitment to greatly increase our solar generation capacity
through projects such as this, and we are relying on companies
like Solis Partners to help us reach our goals and create economic
growth."
